Feeling unwell far from home? Talk to a doctor by video during your stay in Avignon.
In July, Avignon changes scale: the festival turns the town into a continuous stage and fills every available bed. A health problem then lands at the worst possible time.
DotKtor is a telehealth service for travellers, tourists and hotel guests who need medical help abroad. Request a video teleconsultation from your phone, without unnecessary trips.
Create my account and request a teleconsultationPayment is made directly by the patient before the consultation, and the price is shown before you book. For any urgent or worrying situation, call the emergency services immediately: 15 or 112.
The consultation covers common health problems that can arise while travelling.
The former papal city, a World Heritage site, concentrates almost all its public inside the ramparts. Its high-speed station puts it under three hours from Paris and makes it a gateway to the whole Rhône valley of Provence.
During the festival the population inside the walls rises very sharply over a few weeks, with no change in medical provision. Waiting times stretch accordingly. In an emergency, call 15 or 112.
July dominates by far, followed by a conventional tourist August. The rest of the year, numbers follow the heritage trade and the Provence circuits, with stays of two to three nights.
Consultations are carried out by doctors registered with the French Medical Council (Ordre des Médecins) who practise in France, and experienced in caring for international patients during their stay. Subject to medical availability, an English-speaking doctor can take your consultation, so you can describe your symptoms without a language barrier.
Create your DotKtor account, submit your request, then access a video consultation with an available doctor. The service is designed to make it easier to reach a doctor during a stay or a trip.
